The rise of mobile technology is undoubtedly one of the big ticket items of recent times, and it’s widely known that there is more computing power in your average digital wristwatch these days than there was on the first lunar landing craft. Really is amazing how Apollo 13 made it back to Earth. Mobile devices have continued to evolve, such that now they are actually less likely to be used for the purpose they originally had – as phones. The growth in popularity of mobile devices in recent times is rightly pushing companies to consider mobile as a part of their internet strategy.  As yet thought, it's an opportunity that is still to be grasped.  Some stats I saw this week put it in fairly stark terms - whilst 78% of the population has a mobile phone (or tablet) and 19% of us have even bought something using it, a staggering 70% of SMEs do not have a mobile optimised website.  Read More...

Web economy to double in 4 years

A recent report by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) claims that the value of the internet economy within G20 countries will double by 2016.  The report, backed by Google, suggests that ever increasing mobile access will be the main driving force behind growth.  It also names the UK as one of the most advanced e-commerce economies.   Read More...
