25 Reasons Why I'll Leave Your Website in 10 Seconds

eConsultancy have got a great article on the top 25 reasons why a user will 'bounce' straight away from your site.  They list a wide variety of factors, some obvious like popups and slow load times, and other less obvious like using a template design that doesn't fit your content properly.  It's amazing how many of them there are; and amazing how many websites break these basic rules.

Predicting Eye Movement on Websites

We're fans of clever technology here at WSI, so we always stay on top of the latest developments. Something we started using recently has really impressed our clients.  It's called Predictive Eye Tracking (P.E.T.), and it's essentially a way of telling how users' eyes will track around a website.  We can tell what things users are most likely to focus on, how long for, and in what order.  This is great, because unless you have a graphic designer's eye for content placement (and not a lot of us do!) you can easily see how effective your layout is. Read More...
