Noel Moriarty - Friday, September 07, 2012

The rise of mobile technology is undoubtedly one of the big ticket items of recent times, and it’s widely known that there is more computing power in your average digital wristwatch these days than there was on the first lunar landing craft. Really is amazing how Apollo 13 made it back to Earth. Mobile devices have continued to evolve, such that now they are actually less likely to be used for the purpose they originally had – as phones. Chrysler's official Twitter account gets the F-word treatment

Rob Moriarty - Thursday, March 10, 2011

Chrysler, one of American's largest car manufacturers, had its Twitter account compromised yesterday.  A tweet containing that most loathed expletive - the F-word - was issued to @ChryslerAutos 7500 followers.  Obviously issued by a disgruntled employee, the tweet was as follows: “I find it ironic that Detroit is known as the #motorcity and yet no one here knows how to f**king drive.”  Whilst it is fairly witty and was probably just the result of someone having a bad day, this sort of thing does underline the importance of securing your company's social media implementation.  It's fair enough having strong passwords and limiting access to a small team, but that doesn't work if one of your employees can't be trusted.  Read More...
